University of Illinois System

Data Survey

As a part of the security program we are asking all faculty, researchers, and staff to take a data classification survey for which you may have received an email referencing this page. Often data exists in systems and locations that are only known by a single employee, so the ultimate success of this effort depends on participation by every employee who works with data. This survey can be completed anytime by any member of the campus community by visiting https://go.uillinois.edu/datasurvey

This survey is administrated by a vendor, OneTrust. Upon visiting the link you will be prompted to authenticate with your university email address and your respective password. The survey guides you through a series of questions to identify yourself and the type of data involved in your business operations or research projects.

One major goal of this effort is to minimize losses from security incidents, which siphon off resources that could be better used to pursue the University’s primary mission. Thank you for taking the time to involve yourself in the process of improving the privacy and security for the campus. For more information on the security program, risk management, data classification, or tools for securing data please visit any of the pages associated with this website.
